Fixed gear frame fixie 54cm - $40 (Reno) in Reno, Nevada For Sale

This is a schwinn Steel frame size ~54 cm from center of bottom bracket to top of seat tube and about 60 cm from seat post to center of steer tube. I picked this fram up planning on making it into a fixed gear but I realized it was too big for me. Also, there is some weird damage to the rear triangle, it looks like someone tried to cut the tube with bolt cutters (see picture). While it bent the tube, it is not cracked and it still feels really solid, you could always have someone in town weld a piece of steel over that section if you were worried but it doesn't seem to have affected the strength of the bike. I updated the bottom bracket and it has a 175mm crank on it with a 42 tooth chainring. The frame was originally made for 26 inch tires but it works well with 700c road wheels (that is what I had on it). The frame has mounts for cantilever brakes but if you put road wheels on it the brakes will not reach the rim. The back is drilled to accept standard road brakes but the front fork is not, it is easy to drill a hole in the fork so you can mount a road brake on it too. All you would need to get this in riding condition is a seat post and seat (~5 bucks for used ones at the Reno Bike project) pedals, a chain, handlebars and a stem (less than 10 dollars for all of it at the reno bike project) and a wheel set (look for fixed gear wheels online or convert a standard wheel set into a fixie).
This would be a perfect frame for someone wanting to build a fixie for riding around campus or town. Email me if you want to see more pictures.
